My name is Maddie Love. I am a third year health studies student here at Queen’s University.
My first job that was important to me (and is still my current job) is being the Queen’s University Volleyball Suprevisor through Queen’s Athletics and Recreation (Home Events). This is a memorable job because it has shaped my future career aspirations, as I wish to continue to work in the sports industry on the business/management side.
I am interested in learning about ways employers/employees go about solving problems, as I am constantly faced with barriers I need to overcome at my job.
Hi Maddie!
I’m also very interested in Health Studies and am currently taking HLTH102 and have completed HLTH101. Being the Queen’s University Volleyball Supervisor must be a really great job! It really allows one to make connections and as you said, shape your future career aspirations. I am also looking forward to learning about different ways in which employers/employees deal with issues in the workplace and am looking forward to the different aspects of this course!

Hey Maddie!
That is very cool that you work for the ARC! I had a job being an inter-mural ref but unfortunately that did not work out. The job that you currently have seems very interesting especially considering that it is something you want to go into in the future.
Are you taking any health or sports related courses in school?
Like you, at my job I am constantly being faced by barriers in the workplace so I am excited to learn about this topic as well.
Looking forward to working along side you this semester!
Good work,
Abi

Since I am a health major I’ve had a few courses regarding sports/health. HLTH200 is a class about physical fitness & wellness, and within it you build a strength program. KNPE265 is a class about sport psychology which was a very interesting course as well.
